The strengthening occurs via learning rules, or weighted measurements and mathematical neural algorithms. This in turn gives students a higher chance of bagging academic scholarships and picking the best schools. Understanding the basics of neural learning makes it possible to combine the nurture and nature aspect of a child's learning potential.

@ysmina-- I tried using it a few times. This type of memory technique definitely exists and there are actually quite a few people who use it. I didn't get very far with it because it requires information to be learned in a certain order. The location of the information in the "palace" triggers the memory, but you still have to remember it in order. You also have to review the information frequently. So it's not possible to actually put the knowledge there and remember it three years later without ever reviewing it.

Several contemporary TV shows, films and books mention something called a "mind palace" or "memory palace." Apparently, this is a information storage technique for the mind. A virtual palace is imagined with the mind and information is placed in certain locations. The individual is then able to retrieve the information any time in the future. It's never forgotten.

Is there any truth to this concept? Is this type of neural learning possible? Has anyone here used it?

Neural learning is also being studied now in regards to depression. I read about it recently because I suffer from depression from time to time.

A few studies have found that people who experience severe and long-term depression have trouble learning and remembering things. Doctors and scientists discovered that it's due to the shrinking of the material between neurons in the brain. This material helps neurons communicate with one another. When we're depressed, these areas shrink leading to poor communication between neurons and poor neural learning.

This is just one more reason why those in depression need to get help. Depression is detrimental not just for our psychology but also our body, organs and how they function. I take depression very seriously and I'm not ashamed to ask for help.
